Slovenian official visits whole-process people's democracy practice site of CPPCC committees
Marko Lotric, president of the National Council of Slovenia, visited the whole-process people's democracy practice site of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference committees in Shanghai on Thursday, gaining firsthand insight into the city's democratic practice.
In a message left in the site's visitors' book, Lotric noted that Slovenia and China have maintained mutual respect and sincerity in their interactions over the past three decades. "This visit has further advanced bilateral cooperation. I am grateful for you building bridges of understanding between our peoples," he wrote.
The facility has been operational since last January. As of the end of October, it has hosted 222 consultative sessions, drawing participation from 5,156 CPPCC members across three administrative levels and 7,495 grassroots representatives. The center has emerged as a significant platform for democratic consultation, having collected 1,880 public opinion submissions and welcomed 610 international visitors.
