10th China Intl Copyright Expo set to open in Qingdao


The 10th China International Copyright Expo will be held in Qingdao, Shandong province, from Oct 16 to 18, focusing on the creation, application, protection, management and services of copyrights in this digital age, according to an official.
Wang Zhicheng, head of the Copyright Administration of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, told a news conference on Friday that the upcoming expo will feature five exhibition areas and nine seminars to showcase the digital and intelligent innovations in the field of copyright across the country.
It will also highlight copyright empowering high-quality development in related industries and present new advancements in international copyright exchange and cooperation, he said.
The expo is set to be a high-level international platform aimed at deepening mutual learning among civilizations while helping to create a sound environment for innovators, he added.
It is the only comprehensive, international and national-level professional fair in China's copyright field. Since its launch in 2008, it has been held biennially in various cities, including Beijing, Guangzhou, Suzhou, Hangzhou and Chengdu.
It has become an important platform for introducing copyright achievements, facilitating active copyright trade, promoting the transformation of copyright value and enhancing copyright exchanges between China and other countries.
