Autumn colors draw crowds to Hebei's Baishishan Mountain

As autumn breezes sweep across Baishishan Mountain, or Whitestone Mountain, in Hebei province, crowds are flocking to the area to witness its natural beauty and outdoor adventure.
Located about 200 kilometers from downtown Beijing, this mountain-centered scenic area has become a favored destination for urban residents eager to escape the city's hustle and bustle.
As September progresses, the mountain enters one of its most scenic periods. The autumn gradually colors trees and leaves on the mountain gold and red, while cooler temperatures make hiking and outdoor activities more enjoyable.
This time of the year also offers increased chances to witness the park's famed sea of clouds, which provides stunning scenery for visitors.
With dense vegetation covering more than 98 percent of the area, the mountain's ecosystem serves as a critical ecological barrier for North China, with air quality metrics far exceeding urban cities.
The spot also integrates ecological preservation with recreational offerings, including cliff-side via ferrata (known as flight over cliffs), cliff swings, mountain walking trails, and high-altitude cycling.
