Global Public Security Cooperation Forum to be held in Lianyungang

More than 800 people from 176 countries and regions, as well as 14 international organizations are to join an annual conference on public security cooperation in Jiangsu province.
The 2025 Conference of Global Public Security Cooperation Forum is scheduled to start on Tuesday in the city of Lianyungang.
Chen Zhimin, president of hosts the China Association for Friendship, told a media briefing on Wednesday, that an opening ceremony for the three-day forum will be held on Sept 17, with eight subforums added to this year's event.
The subforums are focused on a series of themes, including combating transnational crime, counternarcotics cooperation and immigration management cooperation, Chen said.
The Global Public Security Cooperation Forum was first held in 2022, and the annual conference has attracted high-level officials from around the world since then.
"The forum originated in China and is located in China, but it belongs to the world," Chen said, adding that organizers will use this year's conference as an opportunity to gather expertise on security and development from various countries and parties.
In addition, an exhibition on public security technologies and equipment will be held on the sidelines of the conference.
This year's exhibition will be launched in Lianyungang on Tuesday, and will last for four days, said Yu Bing, deputy head of the First Research Institute of China's Ministry of Public Security.
The exhibition will take up an area of more than 13,000 square meters, Yu said.
As many as 60 Chinese companies will display equipment in forensic technology, communication and other fields, and "offer solutions suitable for security needs of different countries and regions", Yu said.
