Multiple new types of military aircraft are set to be shown to the public at the upcoming V-Day parade on Sept 3 in Beijing, the event organizers have said.

According to the temporary command in charge of aircraft squadrons, the parade will mark the maiden performance of several new combat planes that "are major hardware in the armed forces and are deployed to handle high-intensity warfare".

The display of new weaponry will sufficiently show the latest development in the Chinese military's efforts to build world-class hardware, and will also reflect its strength to deter adversaries and safeguard China's airspace, the command said in a statement on Monday.

Another feature in the aircraft performance will be the interservice grouping, which means early-warning, transport and strike planes from the People' Liberation Army Ground Force, Navy and Air Force will be mixed in several squadrons. This arrangement is meant to indicate the air units' capability to carry out joint operations, the command explained.

Many pilots taking part in the parade have been selected from time-honored units with a glorious history in the war. Moreover, there are several top Chinese combat aviators who will operate their jets in the event.

In addition, to represent the parade's main theme, helicopters will carry flags and banners and form a group shaped as numerals, according to the statement.

China will stage a grand military parade on Sept 3 to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression (1931-45) and the World Anti-Fascist War.

A total of 45 marching soldier units, land weaponry groups and aircraft squadrons are set to take part in the parade.
