CCTV starts airing 3rd Aerial China season

The third season of Aerial China, a natural landscape documentary series, will begin airing on China Central Television's flagship CCTV-1 channel and documentary channel CCTV-9, as well as new media platforms, on Thursday. The series gives viewers a bird's-eye view of China's geographical landscapes and natural beauty and tells stories of Chinese people and the changes in the new era. The new series has 10 episodes, each 50 minutes long. The latest technologies, such as 4K ultra-high-definition, have been used to enrich the viewing experience. Eighteen helicopters and about 118 drones were used during production.

Yangtze gators being released into the wild

A nature reserve in eastern China's Anhui province released 32 Yangtze alligators, also known as Chinese alligators, into the wild on Wednesday, with another 248 planned to be released later this year. Bred in captivity, the reptiles were set free at different release points in the Anhui Chinese Alligator National Nature Reserve. Satellite trackers were attached to the tails of some of the alligators to allow for future inspection and scientific monitoring.

YUNNAN

Chinese border police seize 5.87 kg of meth

Police in Yunnan province have seized a haul of methamphetamine concealed in six dictionaries in the luggage of two passengers. Border police nabbed two suspects after inspecting a vehicle that had been called via a ride-hailing service at the Guanping checkpoint in Xishuangbanna Dai autonomous prefecture and discovering 5.87 kg of methamphetamine hidden in six hollowed-out Burmese-Chinese dictionaries in their luggage, checkpoint officials said on Tuesday. Further investigation is underway.
