Spotlight effect, also called the social spotlight effect, is the tendency to believe that other people are paying closer attention to one's appearance and behavior than they really are.
焦點(diǎn)效應(yīng)，也叫做社會(huì)焦點(diǎn)效應(yīng)，是人們高估周圍人對(duì)自己外表和行為關(guān)注度的一種表現(xiàn)。
Spotlight effect is a universal experience that distorts our egocentric notion about the degree to which people in groups, like parties and work gatherings, pay attention to us. It is why you feel like a public failure if you stand in the corner or spill a drink at a party. People tend to think the social spotlight shines more brightly on them than it does. But many fewer people notice these and other embarrassing circumstances than you might think, and you can relax.
焦點(diǎn)效應(yīng)其實(shí)是每個(gè)人都會(huì)有的體驗(yàn)，這種心理狀態(tài)讓我們過(guò)度關(guān)注自我，過(guò)分在意聚會(huì)或者工作集會(huì)時(shí)周圍人們對(duì)我們的關(guān)注程度。因?yàn)橛薪裹c(diǎn)效應(yīng)心理，你才會(huì)因?yàn)樵诰蹠?huì)上站在角落或者弄撒了飲料而覺(jué)得自己很失敗。人們總是覺(jué)得社會(huì)聚光燈對(duì)他們格外關(guān)注，而事實(shí)并非如此。其實(shí)注意到你把飲料弄撒或其它尷尬場(chǎng)景的人并沒(méi)有你想象的那么多，所以，不用那么緊張的。
