研究:喝甜菜根汁降血壓

Bright-red beetroot (see photo) juice contains the chemical nitrate that dramatically reduces blood pressure, a study has found. Researchers at Queen Mary, University of London, compared patients who were given a 250ml glass of beetroot juice in a day with those who took nitrate tablets. They found that the 2 methods were equally successful in reducing blood pressure, cutting the risk of heart disease, strokes and kidney failure.

英國倫敦大學(xué)皇后瑪麗學(xué)院的科學(xué)家發(fā)現(xiàn)，色澤鮮紅的甜菜根(見圖)汁液含有一種硝酸鹽成份，能夠顯著減輕高血壓癥狀。研究者們將病人分成兩組，一組在一天內(nèi)喝了250毫升的甜菜根汁液，另一組服用硝酸鹽藥片。結(jié)果發(fā)現(xiàn)，這兩種方式對(duì)降低血壓有同等功效，從而減少患心臟病、中風(fēng)和腎衰竭的風(fēng)險(xiǎn)。
