有一次，我們幾個同事在一起聊天，Joe 講了一個帶點黃色的笑話，其他人都大笑起來，只有我沒聽懂，只好說：“I don't get it.”誰知他們聽后爆發(fā)出更大的笑聲。Dalar 就說了一句“Her mind is not in the gutter”.我心想我的 mind 難道不是跟你們在一起的嗎？
原來“mind in the gutter”的意思是心思不良，心術(shù)不正。也就是說 Dalar 剛才是在幫我解釋，說我之所以沒聽懂 Joe 的笑話，是因為我不會像他們一樣想得那么歪。
因此如果想說某人心思不正，就可以說那人的“mind in the gutter”，讓他別那樣了就可以說“Get your mind out of the gutter.”雖然我笑話沒聽懂，但是學(xué)會了一個成語，也算是有所收獲。
