Japanese chief negotiator: Draft document still under intense debate

Japanese chief negotiator Sasae Kenichiro said here Tuesday that the draft common document was still under intense debate.

Sasae told reporters Tuesday morning that the six parties to the Korean Peninsula nuclear issue would continue discussing the draft common document and all the participants would work together to achieve a good result.

The Japanese side would put national interests into the common document, he said, adding no bilateral consultation had been held so far between Japan and the DPRK during the ongoing six-party talks.

This round of talks that groups China, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), the United States, the Republic of Korea (ROK), Russia and Japan, entered the eighth day Tuesday, and it is still hard to say when it will close.
