At a price of US$3 million, former heavyweight boxing world champion Mike
Tyson is expected to visit China and have a formal match.
Agreement has been reached between Beijing Competition Administration Center
and agent on behalf of Tyson on Mar. 10 to ensure Tyson's tour as soon as
possible.
Zhang Heng with Beijing Competition Administration Center disclosed that the
boxing star's tour is composed of two parts: A 10-day visit to China in
June, 2004, mainly exchanges with Chinese boxers, some visits, sightseeing and
charity activities. And then in October 2004, Tyson will come to China again for
a formal commercial match against the preliminarily set well-known Russia
heavyweight.
The sponsor noted the price for Tyson in the two activities is estimated as
about US$3 million in which the first part takes up the most.
Sources say Beijing Competition Administration Center has reached agreement
with Tyson's agent that if things go well, the two sides will hold a press
conference in Las Vegas, the famous gambling center in the Untied States in
April.
