Precautions ensure safer rail transport
Chinese railway operators have strengthened efforts to provide unimpeded rail transport during times of widespread rainfall. Since the start of autumn, Shanxi province has experienced multiple days of prolonged rainfall, with high cumulative precipitation and overlapping affected areas, leading to sustained flood prevention efforts. The Taiyuan High-speed Railway Engineering Section of China Railway Taiyuan Group has leveraged its integrated "defense, inspection, emergency rescue" flood control system, reinforcing anti-flood barriers. It has utilized its rain gauges and natural disaster monitoring systems, promptly reporting rainfall conditions and issuing cloud movement forecasts. Dedicated personnel conduct round-the-clock video surveillance to ensure workshops and teams prepare preventive measures in advance.
