Facility upgrades to lift travel experience
Chinese railway operators have intensified efforts to upgrade facilities that will enhance the travel experience for passengers. At Jiexiu Train Service Depot under China Railway Taiyuan Bureau Group, staff members have launched a full-scale facelift of equipment and facilities inside Jiexiudong Station. A specialist task force has carried out a systematic health-check on all critical escalators, ticket vending machines and ticket gates to avoid hidden faults. They also conducted a sweeping check on station buildings, access corridors and platforms, reinforcing the station's safety and ensuring that journeys for passengers are safe and without incident.
Currency swap agreement renewed
The People's Bank of China, the country's central bank, has renewed a bilateral currency swap agreement with the Central Bank of Iceland. The agreement, valid for five years, is worth 3.5 billion yuan ($491.35 million), the PBOC said in a statement. The arrangement will strengthen financial cooperation between China and Iceland, facilitate bilateral trade and investment, and safeguard financial market stability.
