In the early hours of a recent morning, the hills of Fuling district in Southwest China's Chongqing were blanketed by a thick layer of misty advection fog.

A towering Ferris wheel appeared like an alien contraption suspended in the sky.

Advection fog forms when warm, humid air cools upon encountering colder land or water — a common occurrence in this city of mountains and rivers.

Situated in Meixin Wine Town, a scenic spot in Fuling, the Ferris wheel is the highest object in the city, according to residents. Perched atop a mountain nearly 700 meters above sea level and with its own towering height of 110 meters, the entire structure reaches an awe-inspiring 800 meters. From this vantage point, riders are treated to an unparalleled view — a sweeping panorama of forested mountains.
