The 2025 Shanghai Cooperation Organization Film and Television Week kicked off in the coastal city of Qingdao, Shandong province on Aug 22, and will last until Aug 31.
The event will serve as a cross-border cultural feast by offering a diverse lineup of activities, including an opening ceremony, a live-streamed dialogue session, two roundtable discussions, a global promotion campaign, and screenings of 30 selected films and series from SCO member states.
Film and television create a universal language that connects cultures and promotes mutual learning. This event will provide an international platform to enhance exchanges in cinematic creativity and cultural tourism between China and other SCO countries.
A highlight of the screening week is the Light of Qingdao global promotion initiative, which brings together dozens of digital content creators from various nations to produce short videos capturing this vibrant intercultural dialogue. Through their lenses, they will explore Qingdao's charm and vitality as a UNESCO-designated city of film. This initiative is expected to boost the global visibility and appeal of Qingdao's film and tourism industries.
By celebrating shared stories and creative collaboration, the SCO Film and Television Week opens new doors for cultural exchange and strengthens ties among participating nations.
