Over 1,600 vehicle models from 120 makers to go on display at Chengdu auto show

The 28th Chengdu Motor Show is set to kick off on Aug 29 in the Sichuan capital, with more than 1,600 vehicle models from nearly 120 domestic and foreign automakers on display, the organizers said on Thursday.
The event, scheduled to run through Sep 7, will feature 12 exhibition halls and outdoor exhibition areas, covering a total area of 220,000 square meters.
Domestic brands will make a strong showing at this year's Chengdu Motor Show, with GWM, Huawei's Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance, Chang'an, Geely, and BAIC significantly expanding their exhibition space compared to previous editions.
BYD, China's major new energy vehicle maker, will showcase its full lineup, including Dynasty, Ocean, Denza, Yangwang, and Fangchengbao.
In the outdoor exhibition area, visitors will be able to see demonstrations of Yangwang U8's emergency floating function, experience BYD's Lingyuan intelligent vehicle-mounted drone system, and DiPilot's advanced driver-assistance system.
International brands such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Ford, and Buick will also bring their latest models, the organizers said.
The event will also feature a series of consumption promotion activities, including offering exhibitors and visitors benefits and discounts at local scenic spots, restaurants, and hotels, local authorities said.
