Jinan accelerates development of robotics industry
Jinan, capital of East China's Shandong province, is rapidly emerging as a key player in China's robotics sector, with a core industry output valued at around 15 billion yuan ($2.06 billion), accounting for nearly half of the province's total.
The city now is home to 113 robotics-related enterprises, including major names such as Shandong Youbaote Intelligent Robotics Co, Jinan Keya Electron Science and Technology Co, and Shandong Desheng Robot. The city has established a comprehensive industrial chain, covering core components, robot manufacturing, and system integration.
In recent years, Jinan has stepped up efforts to build, extend, supplement, and strengthen its robotics industry chain. A key milestone was the establishment of the city's robotics industry alliance, which aims to enhance coordination across the supply chain, accelerate technology commercialization, and boost overall competitiveness.
Jinan has also introduced a new industrial park, the Shandong (Jinan) Embodied Intelligence Port, designed as a full-lifecycle innovation and manufacturing zone for robotics enterprises.
Backed by premier industrial parks such as the Yellow River Digital Economy Industrial Park and Jinan International Investment Park, the zone has already attracted a number of high-quality projects and companies.
Moving forward, the city will focus on developing three major real-world applications: high-risk operations, repetitive industrial tasks, and labor-intensive public services. It also aims to promote three categories of robots: interactive service robots, task-oriented industrial robots, and high-precision robots for extreme environments.
