The Sino-American Aviation Heritage Foundation recently arranged for a group of American students and descendants of Flying Tigers veterans to visit Hubei province for a summer camp and related study activities.

On July 29, the delegation visited Wuhan East Lake High-tech Development Zone (Optics Valley of China, or OVC), immersing themselves in Wuhan's vibrant innovation at the Hubei Humanoid Robot Innovation Center and the Optics Valley Suspended Monorail technology site.

In the exhibition hall of the Hubei Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, humanoid robots showcased their versatility: picking up goods, disposing trash, and brewing coffee. The robot tai chi dance performance in particular captivated the delegation, many of whom filmed the futuristic scene on their phones.

Michael Adler, who has been studying Chinese for five years, was inspired by the Chinese technology on display: "After seeing these achievements, I am determined to study Chinese more diligently and visit China more often."

As the students boarded the Optics Valley Suspended Monorail, they rushed to the windows. Molly Donnelly excitedly photographed the flowing cityscape outside the glass with her camera: "I want to capture the essence of China! Such technological progress and scenic beauty are rarely seen in the United States."

In addition to witnessing Wuhan's technological achievements and innovative vitality in OVC, the delegation revisited the battlegrounds and aid sites of the Flying Tigers, visited several universities in Wuhan, and experienced traditional Chinese cultures, bringing the United States and China closer together.
