Ili Kazak autonomous prefecture in the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region has ushered in its peak tourism period. The region's unique natural landscapes and cultural sites have attracted a large number of visitors. It received 54.93 million domestic tourists in the first seven months of this year, a year-on-year increase of 10.31 percent.
