The 17th Straits Forum, the largest annual cross-Strait grassroots exchange event, will be held in East China's Fujian province from mid-June, a Chinese mainland spokeswoman announced on Monday.
The main conference is scheduled to commence on June 15, with the primary venue set up in the coastal city of Xiamen, and other events will be held during the week-long forum around Fujian.
Zhu Fenglian, spokeswoman of the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, said the forum has set up four major sections, namely grassroots exchange, youth exchange, cultural exchange, and economic exchange, which aims to expand cross-Strait integrated development.
She added that the preparatory work for the forum is progressing smoothly.
