More opportunities open up for disabled people

China has seen an increase in disabled people landing jobs and covered by basic rehabilitation services, according to the China Disabled Persons' Federation.
The federation released a report on Friday night, saying that about 9.14 million disabled people with registration cards landed jobs across the nation in 2024. The number was about 9.06 million in 2023.
Also, more disabled people are secured with sound healthcare insurance programs and rehabilitation services thanks to the increasing number of high-quality rehabilitation institutes and skilled talent.
The federation said that, throughout the year of 2024, about 8.67 million disabled people got access to basic rehabilitation services and 1.55 million disabled received suitable assistive devices.
As of the end of 2024, there were 13,297 rehabilitation institutes for disabled people nationwide, with 373,000 staff members involved in the sector. The number was 12,463 and 360,000, respectively, back in 2023.
