Explore traditional Chinese fashion at Caoxian festival

A fashion show featuring traditional patterns from ancient China was held in Caoxian, East China's Shandong province, on April 8, during the Caoxian Hanfu Cultural Festival, attracting significant attention.
The show displayed iconic styles from seven historical periods, ranging from the pre-Qin era (before 221 BC) to the Song (960-1279) and Ming (1368-1644) dynasties.
The third edition of the Caoxian Hanfu Cultural Festival lasts nearly a month and serves as a key platform for promoting traditional Chinese clothing and fostering industry exchange for hanfu makers.
Caoxian county in Heze city is one of the largest producers of hanfu in China. In 2024, the county's hanfu sales exceeded 12 billion yuan ($1.63 billion).
During the festival, about 160 hanfu companies and 320 brands will display over 600 new designs. The event includes exhibitions, sales, cultural lectures, immersive experiences, themed performances and runway shows.
