China to establish over 100 trusted data matrixes by 2028

BEIJING - China is aiming to establish more than 100 trusted data matrixes by 2028, forming a set of data matrix solutions and best practices, the National Data Administration (NDA) said on Saturday.
This target was included in a newly issued action plan for the development of trusted data matrixes (2024-2028), according to the NDA.
The action plan defines a trusted data matrix as data circulation and utilization infrastructure based on consensus rules which connects multiple stakeholders with the aim of achieving the sharing and common use of data and resources.
This plan specifies three key tasks, namely capacity building, cultivation and promotion, and foundation-setting actions of trusted data matrixes.
To comprehensively strengthen the foundation for the development of trusted data matrixes, efforts will be focused on aspects including formulation of key standards, tackling core technologies, improvement of basic services, regulatory management enhancement, and expansion of international cooperation, the action plan states.
