China recovers 16b yuan in misused healthcare funds

Healthcare security authorities across China have recovered approximately 16 billion yuan ($2.25 billion) of misused medical insurance funds from January to September, according to a report released on Tuesday.
So far, the National Healthcare Security Administration has made unannounced inspections to 500 insurance-designated medical institutions this year, covering all provincial-level regions across the nation, the report said.
