GAC announces lawful shipment approval of certain products from Taiwan

The General Administration of Customs announced on Sunday that, based on scientific assessments, it will lawfully approve the shipment of agricultural and fishery products from Taiwan, like Wendan pomelos, that meet mainland's quarantine requirements.
The measure was announced by Zhao Zenglian, deputy dead of the GAC, while meeting with a visiting Chinese Kuomintang party delegation led by Fu Kun-chi in Beijing.
Zhao said that the GAC is willing to strengthen communication with the KMT and relevant parties in Taiwan to resume the shipment of Taiwan's agricultural and fishery products such as Wendan pomelos to the mainland, promoting Taiwan businesses to enhance source management and implement practical corrective measures.
That should be based on the common political foundation of adhering to the 1992 Consensus and opposing "Taiwan independence", according to the official.
