Chinese military carrying out live-fire exercises to protect border stability

The Chinese military on Tuesday started carrying out live-fire exercises in regions along the country's borders with Myanmar, according to a People's Liberation Army spokesman.
Senior Colonel Tian Junli, spokesman for the PLA Southern Theater Command, said in a statement that the command has mobilized its ground and air forces to conduct rapid development, precision strike, multidimensional blockade and joint assault drills on Chinese territories neighboring Myanmar.
He said that combat units under the regional command are ready to handle various kinds of emergencies and will firmly safeguard China's sovereignty, border stability and Chinese people's lives, properties and safety.
