The 15th Shanghai International Popular Sports Festival will take place in the Lin-gang Special Area of Shanghai on Oct 21.

The festival will feature an array of activities, including kite flying, steeplechase, live music, camping, and sports like Frisbee, paddle boarding, and kayaking.

A 10-kilometer race will also be held around the picturesque Dishui Lake. Families can also opt to take part in a leisurely 5-km fun run along shores of the lake.

Pre-registration is required for the running events. Other activities like the outdoor steeplechase, paddle boarding, and kayaking allow on-site registration.

Visitors can also look forward to a kite-flying competition and a lawn camping experience featuring live band performances.

Organizers have also arranged a host of peripheral events, including demonstrations of Wing Chun, interactive activities like robot rodeo, aircraft simulator rides, and exhibitions on traditional folk culture.

The Shanghai International Popular Sports Festival was introduced in 2009 with the goal of encouraging greater participation in popular sports among foreigners and members of the local community.
