A Tanzanian trade delegation took a business trip to Jinhua, East China's Zhejiang province from Aug 13 to 19, according to local media reports.

The delegation visited the Yiwu International Trade Market, the Yongkang Hardware Museum and the Dongyang Wood Carving Museum to learn more about Jinhua's signature industries.

Aggie, a member of the delegation, said she can buy whatever she wants at the Yiwu International Trade Market which has more than 2.1 million commodity items.

Msafiri Mbibo, deputy executive secretary of the Tanzanian Ministry of Mines, noted that members of the delegation are mainly from industries such as mining, mechanical equipment and timber, and are optimistic about the Chinese market.

A procurement engagement meeting was also held during the event, in which nearly 200 local enterprises engaged in mechanics, new energy, auto spare parts, and daily necessities participated.

Agreements for more than 10 cooperation projects related to mineral resources, mining equipment, cosmetics, logistics services and clothing and suitcases were signed, and 50 procurement orders prospectively worth 18 million yuan ($2.46 million) were secured at the meeting.

Jinhua has also made significant progress in cultural and educational exchanges with Tanzania, with the Confucius Institute established at the University of Dar es Salaam in 2013.

The visit was an important step to enhance cultural exchange and economic cooperation between the two sides, said a local official.

Jinhua's foreign trade to Tanzania was valued at 2.93 billion yuan in the first half of this year, up 2.4 percent year-on-year, according to Jinhua Customs.
