More than 20,000 T-shirts printed with the words "Central aid to fight the pandemic in Hong Kong" have been distributed to frontline construction workers recently in a bid to express gratitude for their efforts in building the Central Government-Aided Emergency Hospital in Lok Ma Chau village.

Since construction began last month, the first phase of the emergency hospital has been completed, offering 500 beds and medical technical facilities. Over 20,000 workers have participated in the construction amid varying weather conditions and complicated geology.

Since mid-February, people from all walks of life on the Chinese mainland and in Hong Kong have enthusiastically responded to Hong Kong's anti-epidemic efforts by donating material.

Among them, the Dongguan Industry and Commerce Federation and Southern Metropolis Daily jointly launched a voluntary welfare initiative to donate over 20,000 T-shirts to the frontline builders.
