Vocational students show skills in rural-themed contest

A national vocational skill competition themed on rural vitalization kicked off in Urumqi, Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, on Sunday, attracting 640 contestants from across the country to participate.
The event, held by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the National Administration for Rural Revitalization and the regional government of Xinjiang, aims to set up a platform for participants to showcase their practical skills in repairing agricultural machines, hairdressing, cooking, running e-commerce businesses, electrical engineering and other aspects that are related to the country's process of rural vitalization.
Bai Luyu, a student from Xinjiang Coal Technical College, represented the region to compete in the electrical engineering contest of the event.
To better prepare for the competition, his college offered him one-on-one training sessions to equip him with the knowledge and skills required in the competition. The employment rate of the college's graduates has surpassed 95 percent.
