Memorial set to open in time for upcoming CPC centenary

The renovation of the Memorial for the Site of the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China in Shanghai is essentially completed, according to venue officials. The venue will reopen in time for the upcoming centenary of the founding of the Party in July.
The Memorial is a typical Shanghai house with a courtyard and gates encased in stone frames known as shikumen. It hosted the First National Congress of the CPC that began on July 23, 1921, and which marked the birth of the Party that is now the world's largest political party with more than 91 million members.
