Preferential policy announced for children of Hubei medical workers

Children of medical workers in Hubei province who are fighting the novel coronavirus outbreak will be given preferential treatment in school enrollment, the local government said on Tuesday.
Medical workers whose children take the high school entrance exam, currently scheduled in June, will be given 10 extra points, per a notice issued by the general office of the Hubei provincial government.
Those who sit this year's national college entrance exam, or gaokao, and choose to apply for universities in Hubei will be given priorities in choosing their majors, the notice said.
Higher vocational schools in the province will allocate special quotas for children of medical workers fighting the outbreak, it said.
Children who will attend kindergarten, primary and middle school in the autumn semester will also enjoy preferential treatment in choosing the best schools near their home.
