Tesla owner says nothing unusual before car burst into flames

"Now I have panicky fear," Dong added, referring to the possibility of what would happen if the door couldn't be opened when the flames burst.
Footage caught on a surveillance camera showed thick smoke rising from the car, and huge flames engulfed the vehicle in just 10 seconds.
Fire department investigators said that they are sure the fire started from the bottom of the car but it's unclear if its cause was in the chassis or battery.
More than 10 fire engines were mobilized to put out the fire, while residents in the apartment building were evacuated. Two cars parked nearby, an Audi and a Lexus, were severely damaged in the accident.
The US automaker said in a notice on its official micro blog on Monday night that the company was cooperating with related departments to probe the accident and "made the greatest efforts" to help deal with the aftermath.
It also said the company has reached made contact and is keeping communications open with Dong.
